The BSM Review Desk Team

Two editors, real names, published methods. Every page on this site is written and reviewed by the people below.

Who Writes and Reviews This Site

BSM Review Desk keeps its byline promise simple: everything published here is written by one of the two editors below and reviewed by the other, with the split following their specialisms. Payments, withdrawals and testing are Callum's; terms, compliance and every safer-gambling word are Ruth's. Neither uses a pen name, neither writes for any other casino site, and both put their own money into the deposit tests that anchor our reviews.

Callum Vickery, Lead Reviewer

Callum Vickery

Lead Reviewer — payments & withdrawals

Eleven years in payment operations before this desk, from a card-acquirer's chargeback team to running reconciliation at a Bristol fintech. Callum runs the deposit-test and withdrawal-clock stages of every review and publishes the timings as recorded. Based in Taunton, Somerset.

Ruth Culliford, Compliance and Responsible Gambling Editor

Ruth Culliford

Compliance & Responsible Gambling Editor

Law at Cardiff, then nine years as a money-and-debt adviser with a Bristol advice charity. Ruth reads every operator's full terms before publication, owns the GamStop-explained and self-exclusion content, and signs off every responsible gambling section on the site. Based in Wells, Somerset.

Questions for either editor go through the contact page — both read the inbox. Our testing method, scoring rules and independence commitments are documented in the editorial policy.

Why the Bylines Matter

Anonymous gambling sites are cheap to run and cheap to abandon, which is precisely why so many exist and why we chose the opposite structure. A named editor with a published background can be held to what they wrote: when Callum publishes a payout time, it is his name against the stopwatch, and when Ruth signs off a responsible gambling section, it is her advice-desk experience underwriting it. The two-person review rule — nothing publishes until the other editor has read it — is small-scale by industry standards and deliberately so. Two people who test everything beat a content farm that tests nothing, on the only measure this site is built around: whether a sceptical reader can act on the page and not regret it.
